The function and conditions of the tuck-in device

Shuttleless looms are limited by weft insertion, so most fabrics have raw edges, but they can also be equipped with a tuck-in device to make the fabrics have finished edges. 1. The function of the tuck-in device The tuck-in device is an accessory device of the loom, which is used on shuttleless looms such as rapier, projectile or air-jet looms to weave complete edge fabrics. Because shuttleless looms use external weft supply, the weft bobbin is located at a stationary position outside the fabric mouth. The weft is cut by the weft scissors, and a small section of the weft head is exposed outside the edge of the cloth, becoming a raw edge cloth. After installing the tuck-in device, you can use a crochet hook to hook the weft yarn ends exposed outside the fabric edge into the weaving mouth, and then use the beating action of the loom to woven the weft yarn ends into the fabric edge to form a neat and finished edge. The appearance is comfortable and beautiful, and the fabric quality is improved. Tuck-in devices are often used in the weaving of high-end fabrics, and are widely used in the worsted wool spinning industry. 2. Conditions that should be met (1) The fold-in edge device itself has no power source. Its power comes from the loom. Generally, the weft scissor shaft on the loom is used to transmit it through gears, timing belts, couplings, universal joints, etc. Power, but generally does not use chain drive. This is because the work rules of the fold-in edge require close coordination with the work rules of the reed to avoid the reed and prevent collisions. The instantaneous transmission ratio of chain drive is not constant, and it cannot guarantee complete synchronization of the folded edge and the loom. There is a risk of collision in certain periods, so chain drive is not used under normal circumstances. (2) The tuck-in edge should be synchronized with the loom to ensure that the weaving main shaft rotates once. The tuck-in edge device can also hook the weft yarn head of the previous weft into the fabric mouth to complete a tuck-in action. At present, the ratio of all fold-in edges to the speed of the loom is 1:1. (3) The installation position of the fold-in edge device should be reserved on the breast beam of the loom to ensure that the fold-in edge can reach the corresponding position in the front, rear and height directions of the fabric mouth. At the same time, it is adjustable in the door width direction and can Firmly connected to ensure no major vibrations when driving. (4) The fold-in edge device has its own scissors, which need to be extended to cut the weft yarn. Therefore, the support plate of the loom should be movable and adjustable in length. It should be adjusted to be exactly the same as the effective width of the door every time we weave, so that Will not hinder the folding movement. When the loom is not equipped with fold-in edges, the support board can be fixed (a whole piece) or movable (several pieces spliced together). It must be changed to a movable type after the fold-in edges are installed. (5) The form of the weft scissors must match the tuck-in device. The weft scissors should be bent in the direction of the weft insertion side fold-in edge to shorten the distance between the weft scissors and the scissors on the weft insertion side fold-in edge, and this distance is the width of the waste edge. In other words, bending the weft scissors can improve the weft utilization rate, as shown in Figure 3-1.

(6) After installing the fold-in edge device, it occupies the original location where the temple stays were installed. Therefore, the installation and connection method of the temple stays must be changed. That is to say, the temple brace must be replaced with a fold-in edge device. Matching models and styles are connected to the base with folded edges. (7) There are various styles of independent station waste edge devices used in looms, some are fixed on the breast beam of the loom, and some are installed in front of the heald frame. After the fold-in edge is installed, it occupies the position on the breast beam, and the independent standing waste edge originally fixed on the breast beam of the loom will have no place to install. Therefore, if you want to use the folded edge, you can only use the independent station waste edge device installed in front of the heald frame, or you need to redesign and modify the original independent station waste edge.
