How to clean and maintain ties
1. Because the tie fabric is different from the lining material, it is easy to wrinkle after washing, and it is also easy to damage the luster of the tie surface. Do not put the entire tie into water for cleaning. Use dry cleaning. The knotted center of the tie is easily stained with dirt, so you can put it in a basin filled with gasoline and rub or scrub it with your hands. For other places with dirt, just wipe it with a cloth dipped in gasoline.
2. Do not expose the tie to the sun to prevent it from turning yellow or discolored. Keep ties dry when storing them, and do not put mothballs to prevent moths. When storing, iron it first to achieve insecticide, sterilization and moth-proofing. Hang the tie on a hanger and cover it with a cloth bag to avoid dust.
3. Soak the silk tie for about ten minutes; use a smooth, thorn-free stick to gently tap the stained area of the tie. If the stained area of the tie is too large, rub it gently with your hands; rinse it with clean water and use a clothes hanger hang. After the solvent has evaporated, if there is still a small amount of stain under the tie, you can use a soft-bristled brush dipped in water to gently scrub it.
4. When ironing, use cardboard to cut into a tie shape or use a piece of white paper to fold into a tie shape, stuff it into the lining of the tie, and then iron gently to avoid ironing all sides. If the tie is too tight, you can iron it openly without a cloth, but it is better to use a low to medium temperature and a fast ironing speed to avoid yellowing and “aurora” phenomena.
