Long-staple cotton is divided into three types according to its place of origin: Pima cotton (produced in the United States and Peru) Egyptian cotton (produced in Egypt) long-staple cotton (produced in Xinjiang, China) Pima cotton is soft and drapey luster! Egyptian cotton is often used in high-end fabrics with a sheen like silk. It can almost be said to be the most expensive among cotton types. Xinjiang cotton fiber is long, strong, durable, wrinkle-free and shiny. Some of them are even better than Egyptian cotton.
When long-staple cotton is processed into yarn, the short fibers are strictly removed by machines, leaving neat long fibers called combed cotton. There is no such thing. After the combed cotton is made into fabric, it is made into high-quality mercerized cotton through some processes! It has a silk-like luster.
The material of mercerized cotton is generally made of long-staple cotton. The raw material is much better than ordinary cotton from the beginning, and it needs to go through a more complicated and cumbersome process. So the price will be much more expensive than ordinary ones.
