Because the materials and craftsmanship of clothes on the market are different, the cost of clothes is different, and the selling prices are also different. T-shirt printing is generally divided into two types: watermarking and offset printing. Many people don’t know how to choose. Let’s take a look.

Watermarking is the earliest printing technology used in my country, so watermarking technology is very mature. The main material of watermarks is water, and the remaining ingredients are adhesives, thickeners, emulsifiers, etc. Watermarking is equivalent to dyeing clothes, so it is more suitable to be printed on lighter-colored fabrics. Dark-colored fabrics are not only difficult to color using watermark technology, but in severe cases, there may be no color at all.
The raw material for offset printing is a kind of resin. It is made using a special chemical gel mixed with dye. This mixed “glue” is printed on the clothing fabric, and after baking technology, the printing will be firmly printed on the clothing fabric. Since the raw material for offset printing is relatively viscous, it is a “glue” with a large coverage rate. Unlike watermarks, offset printing can be firmly printed on dark clothing.
The cost of watermarking technology is higher than offset printing. Watermarking technology requires the clothing fabric to be sent to the manufacturer to be printed directly on the clothing fabric. If there is any error in the production process, the fabric may be scrapped soon. Offset printing can be produced in remote areas, so there is no need to send clothing fabrics to manufacturers, and it can achieve a 100% success rate.
Because watermarking technology is equivalent to dyeing clothes, the color of the watermark is more natural. Since there is no glue in the printing area, it feels softer and more comfortable to wear. In offset printing technology, because the raw materials are relatively viscous, the printing area has a strong glue feel, and the hand feel is not as good as watermarking.
Finally, whether to choose watermark or offset printing for T-shirt printing, we need to choose according to our own needs. If you want to wear comfortable clothes with natural colors and don’t care about the price, choose watermarking. If you want more cost-effective and dark-colored clothes, choose offset printing.
